Directory Submission Services

This is a new trade that has sprung up with the realisation that there are a lot of useful directory resources out there that will drive valuable traffic to your site.

There are three main types of directories available to submit to:~

Paid to Include - although this mostly means pay to review with no guarantee of inclusion

Reciprocal Linking Required - Reciprocal linking means a link trade with the directory providing the link

Non Reciprocal - No link is required for this type of resource, but the acceptance criteria tends to be a lot higher.

Directory submission services range in price and quality, and if you find a good company, then stick with them. It is of course painstakingly slow to submit manually to directories, but manual submission is the only way to go really. There are companies who will auto-submit your site to thousands of directories, but keep well away from these companies as they are little more than worthless. There is a third way which is technically the same as the first, but speeded up. This is semi automatic, whereby the submitter uses some software that has a list of the directories, a record of the details of your site, and they then get the fields pre populated with a single click. This method is 100% ethical as it is no different to copy and paste.
